A Northern Minnesota Backyard Wedding

I’m so excited to share a few photos with you from Kris and Steph’s gorgeous Minnesota wedding! Steph and Kris live in Colorado but Steph grew up just outside of Deer River on Poverty Lake, so they decided to celebrate with a wedding at the home that Steph grew up in! Friends and family from all over the U.S. came to celebrate these two and what a day it was!

When I arrived, music was pumping, the girls were dancing, and hair and makeup was being finished up. It was a gorgeous August Saturday and everyone was so excited to be together! Steph looked absolutely radiant in her simple, but detailed Morilee wedding dress and even their two pups were cleaned up and wearing bowties for the big day! When it was time for the first look, Steph met Kris down on the sand beach-the same beach that she grew up playing on as a little girl!

The day went on smoothly through photos, a meaningful ceremony, and one heck of a party at the reception! And although I could go on forever about how beautiful Steph was or how pretty the handmade bouquets were, the thing that stood out to me most was the gratefulness and generosity of the bride and groom! Steph exuded kindness from the very first email she sent me! She was always thanking me and asking me if I needed anything. She is sweet, fun, down to earth, incredibly gorgeous, and honestly one of the nicest people I’ve met! No wonder Kris snagged her when he met her! Denny and I were so thankful to be a part of their day! It is so rewarding to work with such wonderful people and to celebrate alongside their friends and family!
